Disappearing messages – shortcut: How will it work
The new shortcut will be located in the “Manage Storage” section and is identified as a space-saving tool. It is simple to mark both new and old chats as ‘disappearing threads’ using the new section.
As per the report, users can even set disappearing messages with a timer for automatically deleting unnecessary photos and videos. Users will also have the option to configure this feature in their privacy settings or by opening chat info.
Some beta testers have already received the new shortcut to disappearing messages under the “tools to save space” view in the Manage Storage section, and more users are expected to receive it in the coming days.
Speaking of shortcuts for features, WhatsApp rolled out a dedicated shortcut for its Archive Chats feature. The shortcut makes it simple for users to keep all their archived chats in one place. In addition to this, archived WhatsApp chats are automatically muted.
