What is Lapsi and why Big B’s father wanted him to have it when he turns 80 | The Times of India

Amitabh Bachchan, the megastar of Bollywood, turned 80 on Tuesday. While his fans flooded social media with wishes, his family made a special appearance on the set of KBC 14 to make his birthday memorable. First, Abhishek made a surprise entry followed by his mother, Jaya Bachchan. Jaya Bachchan came in with khatti meethi candies and shared them with Big B. Later in the episode, Jaya asks Abhishek to bring in the surprise, and he brings in a bowl of Lapsi, and Jaya feeds Amitabh a spoonful of the healthy Indian sweet dish from Uttar Pradesh. Later, when Amitabh asks the reason, they show a Doordarshan archive video, where Amitabh is seen asking his father (Harivansh Rai Bachchan) what one should eat at the age of 80, to which he replies, “Lapsi”.
