How to fix Pixel 7 Camera app crash issue
Some users claim that they updated the Camera app and things smoothened out for them. A few of the affected had to uninstall and then reinstall the app to get the Pixel 7’s camera running.
There are a bunch of Pixel users who claim that they did not see an update on the Play Store. They are advised to restart their phone and check again. In case, the app is still crashing and you don’t see an update, delete Play Store Cache, restart and check again. Google has already released the latest Google Camera build, which weighs a hefty 218MB, for Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones.
What’s new in Google Camera app version 8.7
Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are the first smartphones to get Camera app’s 8.7 build. Apart from bringing Material You interface “with dynamic colours and components”, it also fixes general bugs and offers improvements. 9to5google says that the update brings “Double-tap action” gestures which can be used to either zoom or switch cameras. Users can also disable the gesture as well. The zoom UI appears above the shutter button.
There is also the return of Frequent Faces which “prioritises the people you photograph most” when using Top Shot. Frequent Faces data is only saved on a device. Furthermore, Google lens has moved to Modes and the Motion mode gets a new icon in the shutter button.
