In a recent conversation, acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who has directed films like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Dobaaraa’ revealed that he regrets not having spent enough time with his daughter Aaliyah when she was growing up.
Elaborating further, the filmmaker added that he believed in the old definition of fatherhood, which was to serve as a provider, but he later discovered that all his daughter wanted from him was time.
The 50-year-old filmmaker also realized that his filmmaker friend Imtiaz Ali, whose daughter is close to Aaliyah, has probably spent more time with her than he has.
Anurag went on to say that because of his rebellious attitude towards the powers that be, his daughter Aaliyah had to face the consequences. The filmmaker revealed how people start trolling her and attacking her on social media.
In May, Aaliyah Kashyap announced the news of her engagement with Shane Gregoire, her boyfriend. In order to celebrate the good news with her friends and family, Aaliyah hosted a party in Mumbai where star kids like Suhana Khan, Palak Tiwari, Khushi Kapoor, Ibrahim Ali Khan, and others were present.
On the work front, Anurag is set to star alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the upcoming crime thriller ‘Haddi’, scheduled for an OTT release on September 7.
